You can also create a collage of all your different images with the in-built collage formats that are available in the app.

So, as you can see, the Pro of Inshot do outnumber the cons of it, but that shouldn’t make you tell that it is the best video editing software.
There is certainly room for improvement for Inshot as well because right now, most of its cons are on its image editing.
And if Inshot wouldn’t have made a separate division in the app itself to edit the images, then it wouldn’t be a big deal, but since it has, it clearly needs to step up in that department, too. Otherwise, there’s no point in it.

User Interface
InShot offers a clean and a simple to use UI for its application. Everything is available at the bottom of the screen, where you will see your timeline, effects, music, etc.
The entire user interface is designed in a way where you can easily find what you are looking for, and you won’t get too confused using the app as well.
This is a great thing because a lot of video editing apps can be a little tricky to understand, given how many different features and effects they have in store for the customer.
But Inshot has managed to keep its UI fairly clean and simple while at the same time packing in many different effects in its pipeline so that even beginners can start using the app for their video edits.
Video Manipulation
There are many different ways you can edit your videos on Inshot with its great range of video manipulation effects. You have the option of intercutting the videos in between and decide on different audio settings for each clip.
With Inshot, you can very easily duplicate your entire video or a certain part of your video and stretch it for as many clips as you would like to.
Then you also have the option of changing the different speeds at which the video is played, so you can slow it down or even fast forward it, as per your liking.
Although it should be noted, that if you are using this effect to create slow-motion videos, then you should shoot your videos with a high frame rate, otherwise your video will end up looking very jagged if you slow it down.
Canvas
In the canvas section, you will find many different types of aspect ratios to choose from for your videos. And given how each social media site follows its own type of aspect ratio, this is a welcoming feature.
Because a lot of content creators don’t specifically put their content on one particular platform, instead, they choose to put it on various different platforms that would get them more attention and more views.
So, having already in-built aspect ratios for each of the different types of social media is a great advantage and saves a lot of time from having to manually set the aspect ratios for each video.
Filters
There are many different filters to choose from on Inshot, both for your videos and for your images as well. You have options like warm, dark, glow, bright, dew, etc., to choose from.
If that’s not enough, then you can also swipe left to its entire line of filters, and from there, you will see the settings icon. Click on it, over at which you will find the option of ‘Basic 2’ that has been turned off by default.
Click on it, and you will find yourself even more different filters to play around with. If that’s not all, then you can even purchase its different packs of filters that are available for just $1.99.
Although, if you get the pro model, then you wouldn’t have to pay for any extra filters, and its entire lineup of filters will be available to use.
Adjust
Then, on the filters section, you will also find the option of ‘adjust’ on it, which, surprise surprise, lets you adjust your images and videos in different ways possible.
You will find a colour graph from where you can easily switch between choosing your greens and blue and can have a fairly decent look for your video.
You also have the additional option of fixing the backgrounds by adjusting them to blur out a little or change their direction, etc. It is a useful feature to have.
And you also get to choose different gradients that are on offer to see which one you would like to put up for your videos if you feel like it. Otherwise, you can let there be no background for your image or video.
Retouch
The addition of this feature allows the AI of the software to play around with your video and make it a little more better as per its computing.
For this, you would have to download an external app called ‘Peachy’ that lets you and the software of the application adjust your images and videos a little bit.
Through Retouch, you have the option to adjust dark circles, whiten your teeth, smoothen out your skin, brighten the skin colour, etc.
Personally, I am not a big fan of such features, because they are not that great, to begin with, and then it also promotes a little bit of artificial look, rather than the natural looks of any individual.

Now you can very easily play with the different types of editing effects you have available on Inshot to make your videos look much more fun and attract even more attention from your audience.
You have many different effects available on Inshot, such as Glitch, Distort, and Beats effects, where you can add certain motions, such as zoom or shake, to your videos.
You also get some stylistic cartoon-type sketch effects available for both your videos and images, and the list of editing effects goes on.
If you are a Pro subscriber, then you will also find tons of different video effects that you won’t be getting on the free plan, so that is also something to look forward to.

Inshot also has a list of different stickers that are available to use for your videos.
Now it should be noted that there are plenty of stickers that are available to use for free, as long as you can watch an ad before placing them on your videos or images.
But you also get an additional load of stickers, which you can separately purchase if you are not a subscriber of the Pro model of Inshot, and if you are, then you wouldn’t have to pay a single dime.
There are different categories of stickers to choose from, and the app will show which stickers are free and which ones you have to pay for.
The stickers are quite simple and fairly nice as well, and they would also help in making your content look even more better.

You have a great set of text and titles available on InShot and many people would be quite satisfied with the overall selection of texts.
But if you want more, or if you have a favourite font that is not available to use, then Inshot also allows you to import the texts onto the app.
Then you also get the additional options of various text animations that are available to choose from. So you can choose how would you like to have your texts displayed on your video, and that is also a fantastic feature to have.
Music
Inshot also offers you the advantage of choosing different types of audio for your videos. And audio plays a very important role in any video, as it helps in setting up the mood of the video.
Through Inshot, you have multiple different ways to play different types of audio. There is already an in-built library of songs to choose from Inshot app, so you won’t have to worry about any copyright infringes.
Then you can also import different types of songs if you have any of them saved on your phone. Inshot also allows you to connect with your iTunes account to collect songs from there.
You also get the option of recording your own type of music through the app itself, and if that’s not all, then Inshot also has a dedicated library just for sound effects as well.
Video Resolution
Inshot also lets you pay around with many different video resolutions at different frames per second as well. So you have the option of saving your videos on 720p, 1080p and 4K.
You can even customise the type of resolution you want in between the set parameter of 720p to 4K, which is also a great feature to have.

Just the fact that it lets you play around with different fps on its free tier speaks a lot about the different level of customisation that is on offer with Inshot.
And a lot of reviews online have said that they find Inshot’s watermark on the videos in its free trial, and I have not seen any of that, and I have been using it for more than three years now, so that is also a really nice advantage.
Is Inshot safe to use?
Inshot is pretty safe to use. Unlike other video editing softwares that are available, you can very easily toggle between the types of permissions that you want to give Inshot access to from your phone.
It is also a great thing because a lot of people have started to become more serious about data protection, which they should also, given how much time and information we dump on our phones these days.
Inshot hasn’t reported any of such activities of using personal data from its customers to get more profit for the overall usage of the app.
You have ads on the free tier of the app, but those ads are not personalised based on the users, and they are very random, and that is always a good sign.
What is better than Inshot?
Inshot is a fairly great app to use, but it is not the only app available to use for video editing on your phone. You have many different types of video editing apps that are readily available and work just as well.
For example, if you are a fan of all Adobe products, then you would love to use Adobe Premiere Rush. Premiere Pro, as a lot of people already know, is considered one of the best video editing apps present right now in the market.
So, Adobe managed to put all of its great sets of features in a free video editing for smartphones and called it Adobe Premiere Rush.
Now, I wouldn’t compete with the two apps, but both of them offer a great line of features that are quite nice to use and are free of cost as well.

Inshot is not completely free to use, if you decide to do so. You will find a lot of features that are available to use on the free tier of the application, and most of the people would be quite satisfied with it.

Sadly Inshot is not available to use on any PC device whatsoever. It is a mobile-only app, and that is where it puts a lot of its focus and attention.
It would have been a great feature to have because there are video editing softwares, like Premiere Rush, that is available to use on computing devices as well.
Granted, Premiere Rush does require an additional subscription of $9.99/month to access the app on PCs, but it would have been a welcome addition for Inshot as well.
Maybe in the future they might add a new price tier that will allow the users to use this app on computing devices, but for now, Inshot is not available on any PC device.

So, there are also certain disadvantages that are on Inshot.

So, what is my final verdict and review on Inshot after this detailed analysis of the app? Well, it does offer a lot of different features and effects for a free video editing app.
The app is also really simple to use, and it works quite well on any given mobile device. There are some downsides to the overall app, especially in the image editing department, and Inshot can work on it.
But I have also been using this app for quite some time now, and I have not found a lot of problems with it.
