Tips for KineMaster

With all that said, here are some of the tips that you can try out for KineMaster.

Learn to add Animation

If you are editing videos on KineMaster that you want to upload on your social media sites, such as Instagram, TikTok, etc., there are times when you would need to put your name or title that works smoothly.

KineMaster allows you a number of different text and image animation options that you can easily try out to have your username pop up in the video that looks really well.

All you have to do is simply import the logo on the app, and type in your name. Then go to ‘Out Animation’ and choose the type of animation style that you want to add to your image or logo.

Add shadows

While we are on the subject of text and images, KineMaster also lets you add shadows to them to help in improving the overall look of the object or text, as well.

The process is more or less the same, all you have to do is import the image and write the text onto which you want to add a little bit of shadow.

After that go to settings, and search for the option of ‘Shadow’. Once you have selected the object onto which you have to add shadow, simply scroll the slider and you will see a shadow and black line pop up.

Choose the right level of shadow for your work, and then save the project.

Zoom effect

Another great tool that KineMaster has is called the ‘Pan and Zoom’ tool. Basically what this tool does is that it allows you the option to digitally zoom your video.

This feature comes in really handy when you have a fairly static frame and there is nothing much going around, or if you want to zoom in on a particular object or person on your frame but weren’t able to do so while shooting.

For this effect to work, go to the tools section and search for ‘Pan and Zoom’. Once you select it, you will have two options Start Frame and End Frame.

Simply zoom and un-zoom using your two fingers on the video and select at what position and time do you want the zoom to start and end.

After that, simply save and the app would automatically zoom in gradually towards the ending position that you chose. It is quite simple and pretty effective, as well.

Colour Correction

The next tip that you should try out on KineMaster is its colour correction tool. Now, the colour correction tools offered on this app are not as advanced as something that you will see on softwares like DaVinci Resolve

The setting options are pretty basic. However, you still are able to control the effects of your video to a certain degree on this app, as well.

So, to colour-correct your video, all you have to do is click on the video and your tool section will open. Scroll down to the list of tools and you will find ‘Adjustments’.

Tap on it, and you will find a ton of options when it comes to changing the look of your video. So, you can easily adjust your video’s brightness, contrast, shadows, highlight, grain, etc.

All these settings are quite useful in making your overall video look quite professional.

Keyframe effects

Another really powerful tool that is available on KineMaster is the Keyframe effects. For those of you who don’t know, keyframes are individual frames of your video.

So, what Keyframe effects do is that it allows the user to apply effects to individual frames of the video, rather than applying them to the whole video all together.

To apply a keyframe effect to your video, first choose the effect from the effects box that you want to apply to your video.

After choosing your effect, you will see a ‘Key’ icon on the left side of your screen. Click on it and you will see a circular option open up on your right. Press the ‘Plus’ button on the circular option.

Now drag the effect on to your video and track it manually to the points that you want it to apply, you will see some red dots appearing on your video’s timeline.

Once you are done tracking, simply play the video and you will see that the effect only applies to the places that you tracked.

Adding soundtrack

Another tip that you should know about while editing any video is that you should put some sort of a background soundtrack to your video.

Music plays a very important part in making the overall video as it sets the tone of what the video is like. It is not 100% necessary to add soundtracks, sometimes videos without soundtracks also work well.

It all depends on the context of your video and adding a soundtrack to your video on KineMaster is pretty easy. All you have to do is simply press the ‘Audio’ option and you will be able to add different types of soundtracks.

Learning Clone tool

KineMaster also lets you create the illusion of you having your own clone. It is slightly tricky to create, but if you follow all the steps correctly then you will be able to make your clone on KineMaster.

Firstly, you need to record yourself twice using a tripod as the frame needs to same. Once you have recorded yourself, simply import one of the clips on KineMaster.

Add the second video on top of your previous video and zoom it so that all the sides match. After that, go to the cropping option and select ‘Mask’.

You will need to select different shapes, select a square shape and simply crop half of your video so that your ‘clone’ can be seen on the other side of the video.

Use the ‘Feather’ tool to have an even tone to both your clones and you have successfully made your clone video.

Focus on the first few seconds

If you are editing a video you would like to upload as a reel on Instagram or on any other platform that has a duration of around 90 seconds or less, then you should put a lot of focus on the first few seconds of your video.

Users can easily tell whether they would like to watch a certain video or not, based on the first few seconds of your video.

So make sure that it is engaging enough so that users continue to watch your video for the full duration.

Otherwise, the algorithm might think that the video is of no use and people are skipping over it, so it wouldn’t recommend your video as well.

Use dynamic colours

Continuing on being able to keep the attention of your viewer, one of the easiest ways you can do that is by actually using dynamic colours in your video.

Colours are quite attractive and they often lead to people continuing to watch your videos for the full duration.

Using complementary colours, such as Orange and Blue, Red and Green, and Yellow and Purple are great ways of using dynamic colours.

Use stickers

Another way in which you can try to gain the attention of your users is by using stickers and subtitles on your video.

Having stickers and subtitles play at the bottom half of the screen keeps the overall video seem interesting and has the user’s attention.

You can simply add subtitles and stickers to your video on KineMaster by following the above-mentioned tips.
