Animoto

What is Animoto?

Animoto is a video presentation application that allows you to create various different styles of presentations for your personal or business work. It has multiple different templates and stock images to offer to design an attractive-looking presentation.

Animoto has a fairly simple UI to use that is quite easy to understand, and even beginners can use this application to create a presentation for themself.

But like almost all the products that are available, there are certain things that are great about Animoto and certain things that aren’t so much. So here are some of the reasons why you should look for its alternatives.

Reason to look for sites like Animoto

Reason 1 – Limited customization options

Animoto offers limited options to customize its templates and the overall look of the presentation, and for some people, that won’t be an issue as they can easily create a project and be done with it.

But for certain people, that can be a deal breaker as many people do look into customizing the presentations in their own personal way that can work really well for the overall presentation, and that is something that you won’t see on Animoto.

So if you are someone who has a problem with this situation, then you should definitely look into its alternatives.

Reason 2 – Limited fonts styles

This is also a feature that you would not expect in an app that is dedicated to designing and creating. Almost all the designing tools available online, have plenty of different fonts to choose from.

And over here, you have a certain amount of fonts that can be accessed on Animoto alone, and that is also quite a random and weird flaw from their side because it shouldn’t be that difficult to have different types of font.

So, if you are someone who is interested in exploring different types of fonts for your work, this might not be the right option for you.

Reason 3 – No dedicated apps for mobile devices

Animoto doesn’t have a dedicated app for Android or IOS devices, and that is also something that you won’t really expect in a designing tool as well.

Many people nowadays give their presentations via their phones because of how powerful our smartphones have become over the past few years, and creating an app for any of the devices also seems quite questionable.

So, again, if you are someone looking to create different types of presentations on your mobile, then this is not the service for you.

Best Animoto Alternatives

WeVideo

WeVideo is a software that is dedicated to creating various different video presentations where you can have multiple different templates available to create many different things and presentations as per your liking.

It is fairly professional video editing software that would certainly require some learning curve as you have many different tracks and timelines to adjust to that would make the content that you would want to see.

But there are many things about WeVideo to talk about that a lot of people would like about it, and some people wouldn’t like it as much, so here are they.

What we liked about WeVideo

WeVideo is a fairly professional video editor that does a lot. It has a user interface that is quite similar to any popular video editing software like Adobe Premier pro, Lightworks, iMovies, InShot, Final cut pro, Kine Master, Power director etc.

There are multiple different timelines available on WeVideo on which you can edit your videos. You have separate tracks for audio and video as well, and on top of all this, you also get a dedicated library of stock images and videos.

WeVideo also supports a screen cam, in which you can directly record what’s showing on your screen and put it up on your video as well. This is also quite a useful feature.

Are you not happy with Wevideo? Do not worry we have written in detail about the best WeVideo alternatives.

What we didn’t like about WeVideo

WeVideo’s UI, even though it is fairly good and has some advanced features on it, it is still quite cluttered to look at, and it is not as clean as some other UI that are present in the market to work with.

WeVideo also offers a free tier plan where you can access its set of features for free, but the quality of videos that you get from it is quite a low standard, and the features on its list are also fairly low.

For example, you only get around 480p resolution in its videos, and only about 5 mins worth of video can be exported when you use its free tier plan, with a watermark as well.

Why did we choose WeVideo as an Animoto alternative?

WeVideo does offer a handful of features that customers would like to use to create various types of video productions using its services. The entire layout of WeVideo seems a lot more professional than Animoto, although Animoto’s UI is much cleaner.

WeVideo also offers a fairly nice pricing plan that can rival Animoto’s pricing plan as well, which is also something that customers can look forward to if they choose it as an alternative to Animoto.

And the overall experience of using WeVideo does have better responses than what you receive for Animoto.

Review and rating of WeVideo

WeVideo is a fairly nice video editing software that does have a learning curve to it, as I had mentioned at the beginning of this sub-topic. It doesn’t have a simple drag-and-drop type setup like other alternatives in the market.

But it compensates for all that with a fairly good library of stock images and video files which a lot of people working in different fields can use to create quite effective video presentations.

For those reasons and more, I would be rating WeVideo 3/5 stars.

Filmora

Filmora is also a fairly popular video editing software that is available right now in the market, and many people do use it for its wide range of templates and effects that can truly enhance your entire presentation.

The UI of Filmora is also quite clean and easy to use, and it does have a drag-and-drop feature for some of its effects, but you don’t necessarily see people using it to create highly professional videos.

This is used mostly for some presentation-type videos. As always, there are things that are great and not-so-great about it as well.

What we liked about Filmora

Filmora comes with many different features and effects that are packed into its content library. One can easily get lost in the world of Filmora to edit their videos on it. It also supports 4K editing as well, which is quite useful these days.

It has a wide variety of advanced features, like chroma key and tracking effects, that you don’t usually see in video editing software at this pricing point. The overall look of Filmora is also quite unique, and you shouldn’t have a lot of trouble with it.

What we didn’t like about Filmora

Filmora does have a set of cons to the videos it produces as well. For starters, it doesn’t offer a free tier as the rest of the alternatives provide, it does have a free trial, but when you use that free trial, your videos will have a Filmora watermark label on them.

The software, as I had mentioned before, is not suitable for highly professional work as well because it tends to lag and sometimes automatically shut down when you use heavy and large files on it to edit.

Why did we choose Filmora as an Animoto alternative?

Through Filmora, you can automatically share your video files on different social media platforms like Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, etc. It also has aspect ratios suited for those particular sites as well.

The overall usage of Filmora is also quite different from Animoto, wherein you will find some heavy effects list that can truly make your video presentations shine and have a fairly good output as well.

And through Filmora’s paid plan, you can export an unlimited number of videos on it, and that is also something to look for.

Review and rating of Filmora

Filmora is a proper video editing software that you can use to create semi-professional videos on it.

I wouldn’t recommend you edit videos that you would want to have much more control over because it is a bit different than proper editing software like Adobe Premier and Lightworks.

But the overall usage of Filmora is fairly good for creating some video presentations and social media posts. So if you are looking for an alternative like this, I would recommend Filmora.

And for that reason, I would be rating Filmora 3.5/5 stars.

Biteable

Biteable is also a great alternative to keep an eye on; it has a number of different templates available in its library that will allow you to make dynamic videos that look quite professional.

The overall usage of Biteable is also fairly simple, with a great UI that enables a simple drag-and-drop method for users to create their video presentations pretty quickly and in an easy manner.

Biteable is also really good for the graphics that it provides, and many businesses can use it for creating how-to videos or any type of explainer videos as well.

What we liked about Biteable

Biteable allows its users to play around through many different types of ready-made animations that are very easy to set up and use. There are over 1.8 Million plus stock images and videos to choose from.

The overall UI of Biteable is very easy to use and not too cluttered for any beginner to learn as well. Biteable also offers an unlimited number of exports, even in its free plan, and that is also something you don’t usually see around every day.

It also has a huge library of fonts to choose from for your video presentations as well.

What we didn’t like about Biteable

Biteable does offer a lot of features, but all those features do cost a significant amount of money as well. Biteable’s pricing plan starts from $228/year and goes up to $2,500/year for its ‘team’ pack. That is quite a lot of money to offer.

The overall software also has some issues, wherein you can’t always fully edit a certain amount of text elements as they are all grouped together, and the edit affects the entire text rather than a specific amount of text.

Biteable also does not have multiple different tracks options for audio, and that can be frustrating for some people as well.

Why did we choose Biteable as an Animoto alternative?

Biteable has a great lineup of already ready-made animations that are very easy to use and do not require a lot of learning as well; this makes it quite simple for a non-beginner to use this application as well.

It also has a vast library of stock images and videos, which users can use to create many different types of presentation videos and have an effective video.

Plus, the overall UI of Biteable is quite nice and easy to use, and many people who are looking for Animoto alternatives would be quite satisfied with it.

Review and rating of Biteable

Biteable is a powerhouse of editing software that a lot of people would like to use for their work. It has a great set of templates to offer, and on top of that, the overall ready-made animations are great tools of production as well.

There is also not a steep learning curve when it comes to learning its usage. However, one has to keep in mind its slightly expensive price tag as well. For that reason, I would be rating Biteable 3.5/5 stars.

Lumen5

Lumen5 is an AI-centric video designing platform that is known for its overall great sets of features and library of templates that makes it quite easy for anyone to create stylish, professional video presentations.

Lumen5 is also quite well-known thanks to its great text-to-video feature, wherein it can very easily take in written scripts and convert those written words and present them on your video so that you don’t have to type it all.

This brings us to some of the things that I liked and disliked about Lumen5.

What we liked about Lumen5

Lumen5 contains a great library of content that is available to make your work look professional and easy to make. There are a number of different templates available that are all quite well-made and easy to use.

It also features a great AI-centric feature such as text-to-video, where you don’t have to type anything out and just simply publish your script and all of the text goes immediately onto the video.

Lumen5 also has a great library of stock images and videos for its individuals to use and make great videos out of it.

What we didn’t like about Lumen5

Since Lumen5 is mostly AI-based, on paper, it sounds pretty cool and quite futuristic as well, but AI also has some faults, and because of that, Lumen5 also faces a number of those similar issues on it as well.

Sometimes the AI may misinterpret the wordings that are written on the script and then translate roughly to the video, so you would have to change it all, and that increases the work more than decreases it.

Then the overall usage of AI also makes it quite difficult to customize and edit the templates on your own, as everything is already set by it, and you don’t have a lot of flexibility.

Why did we choose Lumen5 as an Animoto alternative?

Lumen5 does offer a fairly substantial amount of characteristics and features that you normally don’t see on Animoto. You have a decent selection of stock images and videos to choose from.

The templates available on Lumen5 is also pretty great, and they can help in creating dynamic video presentation as well.

And the best part about Lumen5, which also sometimes works against it, is its AI functionalities, which do take off a lot of load on the individual to create a video presentation just like the other alternatives do as well.

Review and rating of Lumen5

Lumen5 is not a perfect alternative to Animoto, but it still holds up pretty well in terms of the overall design and looks that you get from its video productions.

The AI usage does work most of the time, but it also has some issues, which you can very easily see on many different AI-based video designers.

And because of its AI, there are certain controls over the product that are taken away from the individual, and for some people, that is great; for others, not so much.

For that reason, I would be rating Lumen5 3/5 stars.

Promo.com

Promo.com, as you would have guessed from its name, is an online site that you can use to create various different advertisements and social media campaigns.

It has a vast library of templates to choose from, making it a great choice for someone who has to make striking videos that are fairly easy to make and understand as well.

There are obviously many things about Promo.com that I found to be useful, but at the same time, I found some features that its users wouldn’t like so much, so here are some of them.

What we liked about Promo.com

Promo.com is a through-and-through online website that is designed to create a number of different social media campaigns and ads that are quite effective and useful for them.

It has a number of different templates and fonts to choose from. You can also simply post your work on Facebook and Instagram via their website alone.

It also has some marketing tools enabled on its sites as well that would allow you to create better video production and presentations for your target audience. And you wouldn’t have to learn a lot to use Promo.com as well.

What we didn’t like about Promo.com

Promo.com being an online site means that you won’t be able to use it if you don’t have a connection to the net.

Now, in today’s day and age, one can argue that everyone has access to the net. But there are always situations when one loses connection very easily.

Also, Promo.com does not have any of the professional tools that one might expect for editing videos, so you don’t have dedicated video and audio tracks and other advanced features as well on it.

Why did we choose Promo.com as an Animoto alternative?

Promo.com is a great tool to use if you have a business of your own and would like to make videos and video presentations dedicated to your business; then it does offer some great tools at your disposal.

There are many different types of templates available on Promo.com that does help people to make striking-looking videos and presentations; along with that, you do get a good library of stock images as well.

It is a great tool if you are into making ads and other related products.

Review and rating of Promo.com

Promo.com, as I mentioned above, is a great tool for people to who are into creating promotional materials for certain companies and businesses because it does offer a lot of features.

There are some obvious cons to keep in mind, such as limited video editing features, works only online, etc., and these can certainly affect a person’s perspective towards purchasing this product.

For that reason, I would be rating Promo.com 3/5 stars.

Adobe Spark

Adobe Spark is a product that is basically a combination of Adobe Spark Page and Adobe Spark Post, where you can seamlessly sync both of these different collections of works on your devices.

There are a number of products that Adobe releases, and Spark, just like the rest of Adobe products, is quite good at what it does. Here are some of the things that I liked and disliked about it.

What we liked about Adobe Spark

Adobe Spark brings in a number of different templates and features that you can easily use to sync up all your data. It also offers a dedicated mobile app where you can create different types of content as per your liking.

The templates on offer are also made by the community members of Adobe Spark, so you can contribute to them as well.

What we didn’t like about Adobe Spark

Adobe Spark, just like the rest of the Adobe family of products, is slightly on the expensive side, and some people might not be satisfied with it.

The video app that is available for Adobe Spark can only be used on IOS devices, which is also something that some Android users, like me, wouldn’t appreciate.

Why did we choose Adobe Spark as an Animoto alternative?

Adobe Spark is a great tool at your disposal of storytellers and creators, you can very easily create any number of different templates of your own, and you are not restricted to choosing or making only one type of video presentation.

Review and rating of Adobe Spark

Adobe Spark is like any other Adobe Product available in the market right now. It is really good at what it is supposed to do, but you also have to pay some substantial fee for it as well.

If you are an Adobe user, you feel right at home with this product as well. And because of that, I would be rating Adobe Spark 3.5/5 stars.

You have to figure out by yourself which one suits the best for you. I have listed down each one of their pros and cons, and you be the final judge for it.

Because of that, I wouldn’t be choosing any of them as the best alternative to Animoto.

The only reason why I didn’t choose any of them as the best alternative to Animoto is simply that they all serve different purposes. So it is quite difficult to choose from any of them as the best one.
