Rtve.es is a very popular Spanish entertainment media that actually provides its users with a ton of things to watch and read.
So, if you ever go on its website you will find that you are able to read news articles, stream live sports, listen to radio and do a whole lot more on its website.
Usually, I also suggest some reasons for looking at alternatives to a particular topic, but I am going to avoid it because if you are already here on this article, then you may have good enough reasons for looking for its alternatives.
The reasons can be many different things, limited content, language barrier, no application, or any other. So, in this article, I will be discussing some of the alternatives to rtve.es that you can find online right now and use them, as well!

7plus
So, if you are living in Australia then you must have definitely heard the name of 7plus because the overall website of 7plus does offer its users a whole bunch of things to watch.
7plus, just like rtve.es is a media distribution company that offers free content on its website and on this website, you are able to watch live shows, movies, news, and even stream some live games, as well!
There is quite a lot of things that 7plus does right and because of those reasons it does work as a fairly great alternative to rtve.es!
What are the things we liked about 7 plus ?
As I mentioned above, the great thing about 7plus is the fact that you are able to watch a good amount of content on its website for absolutely free of cost, as long as you are okay with watching a good amount of ads on the main content that you are watching.
Apart from that, you get a good dose of movies and tv shows from Australia and US, as well, and all you need to do in order to access its content is create a free account on the website, and you are able to watch everything that is on offer.
The overall UI of 7 Plus is also pretty great and looks pretty sleek, as well, so it does not feel like a free website that you are using in order to access the content on its website.
What are the things we didn’t like about 7 plus?
Now, there are definitely some cons to 7 Plus, as well. Most notably that the service is available only in Australia, so in order to access the website and its content, you need a VPN Connection and VPN connections are not cheap at all, so you are paying in some form.
Another reason that can be pretty annoying about 7 Plus is the fact that there are a tons of different ads playing on the website, for a small episode of about 20-mins long, you can easily encounter 6 ads in between the program and they all have varying duration, as well.
So, the overall watching experience on 7 Plus can be a little annoying, but that’s the price you have to pay for watching something for free!
Our review and rating on 7plus
7 Plus is one of the direct Australian alternatives to rtve.es that you can currently find online, as long as you have a VPN connection or are living in Australia.
There are definitely a good amount of things that can easily annoy people who are using 7 Plus, and they are usually related to the ads that are playing in between the content that you are watching on its platform.
However, even rtve.es is also a website that has a good amount of ads on its programs and that is one of the main reasons why the service is free of cost!
For those reasons and more, I will rate 7 plus 3/5 stars.
YouTube
YouTube is definitely a very global alternative to rtve.es because everyone uses YouTube and there is all sorts of content available on YouTube.
Whatever you can get on rtve.es or any other sites that are similar to rtve.es, you can get that and more on YouTube.
So, there is definitely a lot of things to look into when you are surfing on YouTube and there are also a good amount of things to discuss about YouTube, as well!
What are the things we liked about YouTube?
There are a lot of things to love about YouTube. So, in terms of the overall content that is available for the audience is just immense.
On YouTube you have news, sports, movies, tv shows, Original content, and just so much more! So, rtve.es definitely cannot compete against the service in that matter.
Along with this, YouTube is readily available worldwide without any geo-restrictions, as well, so you can easily access all of its content from anywhere in the world and you don’t need to have a VPN Connection, as well!
What are the things we didn’t like about YouTube?
As for things that aren’t so great about YouTube, one can easily point out the fact that the service is bombarded with a good amount of ads and even on its TV app it is not running ads that are as long as 60 secs or more!
YouTube does provide a solution for this, and you are able to get rid of all the ads if you are a Premium subscriber, and the cost of YouTube Premium is fairly reasonable, at best, but YouTube can lower down the overall level of ads and sponsorship that are run on its website.
Along with this, if you are looking to watch live sports on YouTube, you won’t get that here, and at best what you will be able to see would be highlights of those matches and nothing else.

Our review and rating on YouTube
YouTube is the king of streaming and there is no one to deny that! The overall streaming service offers content that is for everyone and anyone. You just have to find the content that you are looking for and you will be able to find it!
There are so many great features that are available on YouTube, and it’s incredible search engine bar which literally pulls out content even if you write utter garbage, because it knows what you are asking from it.
It is definitely one of the best alternatives to rtve.es, and I would rate it 4/5 stars!
BBC iPlayer
BBC iPlayer is also a really great alternative to rtve.es that you can try out if you are living in the UK. What BBC iPlayer essentially does is the fact that you are able to watch everything that BBC has to offer on this streaming version.
So, you are able to listen to news, podcasts, watch movies, tv shows that are produced by BBC, BBC Archives, and a whole lot more content on its website and its application.
There are quite a lot of things to discuss about BBC iPlayer, as well!
What are the things we liked about BBC iPlayer?.
So, obviously the great thing about BBC iPlayer is the fact that everything that is available on various devices to watch and it includes everything there is to share by BBC! And that’s a lot of content for ‘free’, I’ll get to this part later.
Another thing that I really love about BBC iPlayer is the fact that there are no commercial advertisements that are played on its services, making it a really good option for watching live tv shows and movies, without having to sit through any of those annoying ads.
Also, most of the live tv shows directly stream on BBC iPlayer after they are aired on TV, so there is not a lot that you miss, as well!
What are the things we didn’t like about BBC iPlayer?
While there are definitely some great things about BBC iPlayer, there are also certain things that you should be aware about it.
The entire service is always promoted as a free service, that has everything that BBC has to offer, and that is true to a certain extent. This is because BBC iPlayer is covered in the BBC TV licensing fee.
So, you are definitely paying for the service, it is not completely free of cost! Along with this, the service is only limited to the UK and nowhere else.
Even if you try to access it using a VPN, you would need a BBC TV Licensing fee in order to actually watch anything that is available on the service, and the licensing fee is also only provided to the residents of the UK.
Basically there is no way of seeing the content on iPlayer, if you are not residing in the UK.
Our review and rating on BBC iPlayer
While the service is only restricted in the UK and nowhere else around the world, it is still a service that actually provides a great ton of content for users to watch ad-free!
The website and the overall application of BBC iPlayer are actually pretty good and so is their UI, and the fact that you are able to watch all of the latest live tv shows just a couple of hours after they aired on TV is also quite insane.
It is a shame that this service is only limited to the UK because it would have easily been one of the best alternatives to all other streaming services, including rtve.es.
I will rate BBC iPlayer 3.5/5 stars.
Plex
Plex is also a streaming service that is quite popular all across the globe because of the overall content that is delivered on its platform.
For those of you who don’t know much about Plex, it is a media server provider, which basically makes your computing a media server so that you are easily able to stream all of its content on various other viewing devices.
However, since its release, Plex has increased its overall library of free content, so you are able to listen to music, podcast, watch movies and TV shows, for free, as well!
There is much more to discuss about Plex.
Jellyfin VS Plex: A detailed comparison between the two
What are the things we liked about Plex?
The great thing about Plex is the fact that you are able to watch a good amount of content on its platform, regardless of whether you make your device as a private media server or not.
So, over at Plex, you are able to watch a good amount of live tv shows and movies on its platform for absolutely free of cost.
The overall service is also available on various different viewing devices, so you can easily access it either from their website or by downloading its application.
The UI of the system is also pretty clean and it gets information about a certain content from the net, so there are a lot of functionality options available on Plex, as well!
What are the things we didn’t like about Plex?
So, what are some of the things that are not so great about Plex? Well, you cannot expect to watch the latest and the greatest movies and tv shows on it free program list as the overall quality can be a hit and miss.
Along with this, the overall application of Plex actually does have some bugs in it, so the playback of a particular content isn’t as smooth as on some other streaming services.
Plus, the main strength of the service is streaming the contents that are already downloaded on your device, and all of its free movies and tv shows and podcasts are something like a bonus.
Our review and rating on Plex
Regardless of its flaws, Plex is still a pretty good alternative to rtve.es because, unlike rtve.es, you are able to easily access a good amount of content on its platform without a lot of ads running on it.
The overall service is available on quite a lot of major streaming devices, such as Firestick, Chromecast, and more.
And the overall content, while limited, is still good enough, compared to some other alternatives, such as Tubi TV, etc.
I will rate Plex 3/5 stars.
9now
9now is also a direct alternative to rtve.es because, just like 7 Plus, 9now is also a website that provides its users with a good amount of free content, such as live sports, movies, tv shows, and other reality shows, as well.
The overall website of 9now does provide users with a good enough UI that can be easy to use and access, and all of this can also be used as an alternative to rtve.es.
There are some other points to discuss about 9now, as well!
What we liked about 9now
So, as far as the overall content goes, 9now does deliver some of the most watched live tv shows that play in Australia and you are also able to watch a good amount of live sports on the overall website, as well.
9now also has an application that you can download on other viewing devices in order to access its free content from there for a better viewing experience.
Plus, one of the main things to love about 9now is the fact that the entire platform is completely free of cost to watch without any hidden charges.
What we didn’t like about 9now
9now does have its set of cons, as well. And they are mostly two major cons of 9now. One is that there are just way too many ads that play on 9now.
I get it, nothing is usually free and the content that it is delivering on its platform do have a licensing fee that they have to cover through ads that are played.
But, the amount of ads a person can watch between each program or movie determines the overall watching experience, and the watching experience on 9now is very bad because of the frequency of the ads.
Along with this, 9now restricts only Australian shows and movies on the website and can only be accessed once you are in Australia and nowhere else.
So, international viewers might not have too much to watch, even if they try to access the website from a VPN service.

Review and rating of 9now
While it is great that you are able to watch a good amount of movies and tv shows on 9now, including that of live sporting events, as well, the overall ad experience of it all can be a big let down.
Ads need to be put so that the overall experience of viewing the main content is not ruined, and sadly on 9now, it often tends to be a little too much.
Because of that reason and the fact that the service can only be accessed from Australia, I will rate 9now 2.5/5 stars.

Conclusion
Well, there you have it. An article discussing some of the rtve.es alternatives that are available right now. I have tried listing down all the pros and cons of each alternative that I have mentioned above.
So, you can easily choose the option that best suits you. The main thing about all of them is the fact that they are all free services, just like rtve.es, and they all offer a wide variety of content, such as news, radio, sports, movies and tv shows.
To fund all of this, you need some sort of money and these companies to get that money from playing ads, so you can basically check all of them out and see which service has the least number of ads and the best content that you are getting for free from them.
If I had to pick as the best alternatives from this list, then I would probably choose YouTube and BBC iPlayer as the best alternatives for rtve.es.
The main reason for choosing YouTube as an alternative to rtve.es is because you are easily able to watch everything that is available on rtve.es and watch some more content, as well.
Almost everybody tunes in on YouTube during their day to watch something, whether it be news, sports, tv shows, music, movies, or anything else.
Yes, YouTube has ads on it, but there are quite a lot of ad-blockers available that you can use, if you are accessing YouTube from your computing device.
Plus, YouTube is also not geo-restricted, so that is also a plus point.
BBC iPlayer, on the other hand, is the most premium, non-ad service that is listed in this article that provides a good amount of content that is provided by BBC.
It is also technically a ‘free’ service, as long as you have a licensing fee for the BBC TV channel. The fact that you are able to watch all of its content, ad-free, is a great thing on its own.
The overall service is available to watch on various devices, so that is also something that a lot of people would appreciate. The only major downside of it all is the fact that it is not available anywhere except the UK.
So, if you are living in the UK, you should definitely check out this service.
As always, these have been my thoughts on this topic of rtve.es alternatives. What about you? Do you agree with my list?
Or do you think that I missed out on some other better alternatives to rtve.es that provide a mostly ad-free experience while delivering the type of content that you see on websites like rtve.es.
Whatever your thoughts are, do let us know about them in the comments down below!
