Top 6 TNT Sports alternatives both paid and free

tntsports

What is TNT Sports?

If you are familiar with the channel, BT Sports, then you also know TNT Sports because TNT Sports is just a rebrand of BT Sports and this rebranding has only taken place very recently in July of this month.

While there are definitely some great things about TNT Sports, it still has all the flaws that you might expect from BT Sports channel.

So, in this article I will be suggesting six of the best alternatives to TNT Sports that you can try out right now!

Reason to look for sites like TNT Sports

Reason 1 – Not Available Worldwide

TNT Sports is only available to access in countries like the UK and nowhere else, and while it is fairly common for specific countries having their own sports broadcasting networks, but we have also seen many other international channels available in other countries, as well.

So, if you are not in the UK, you won’t be able to access any of the content that is available on TNT Sports, even if you end up using a VPN.

Reason 2 – Expensive Plan

TNT Sports plans are also quite expensive when it comes to the overall pricing of their service.

So, just like it used to be with BT Sports, there are two packs available,  ‘Big Sport’ Pack and Sport Pack and they cost $47.89/month and $18.69/month, respectively, for a 24-month contract.

And the overall pricing of these two packs will tend to increase, as well, so there is not other way of going around.

Reason 3 – Not great service

Along with all of this, the overall service that is available on TNT Sports is actually not that great, also. For example, most of their channels aren’t even in HD quality, and many users have globally shifted to 4K TVs and panels.

Apart from this, many people have also complained about the overall customer service of TNT Sports being not that great, so it is pretty much the same as things were before the rename, and there are plenty more reasons for not to choose TNT Sports, as well.

Best TNT Sports Alternatives

So, with all that said, here are some of the best TNT Sports alternatives.

CBS Sports

CBS-Sports

CBS Sports is a big sporting tv network that is available in the US and in international countries, as well. The network channel broadcasts popular sporting events that are played across the year.

CBS Sports also feature a website where they also stream some games for live on it and the overall network is available on most cable tv providers in the US and in other countries, as well.

There is quite a lot to discuss about CBS Sports.

What we liked about CBS Sports

There is a good amount of things to like about CBS Sports, for starters, the service is actually available on paid streaming services, such as YouTube TV and Hulu with Live TV, so if you are someone who is looking to cut their cable connection, well, you can still access CBS Sports.

Along with this, the overall service is available in major international countries, as well, so international fans are easily able to access its services, as well.

Plus, the main thing, CBS Sports broadcasts a lot of popular sporting events, so you are getting a good amount of content on it.

What we didn’t like about CBS Sports

While the overall service is great for watching sports on its channels, CBS Sports also offers its users to watch some of the live streaming games on its website for free and those games are very limited.

So, don’t expect to watch some of its main lineups of games on the website, because all of those are reserved only for the main channels, and you need to subscribe to its service, in order to watch it.

Along with all of this, CBS Sports also has an application on Play Store and App Store, but those applications are only for Fantasy games, so they are not that useful, as well.

Review and rating of CBS Sports

CBS Sports is a good option when you are looking for TNT Alternatives because the overall service actually provides you with popular sporting events that are played internationally and domestically, as well.

It is also available on popular TV streaming services, as well, so you can easily access the service, even if you have cut your cable tv connection.

I would rate CBS Sports 3.5/5 stars.

NBC Sports

NBC-sports

NBC Sports is also a really popular option in the world of sports networks because it comes under NBC Universal and NBC has been around for so many decades now and it has so many channels, even for NBC Sports, as well.

All of the channels of NBC Sports, and even NBC do cover different aspects of sporting events that are played, whether it be highlights or broadcasting the actual games, and NBC Sports does bag the rights to a lot of events that are played across the world.

What we liked about NBC Sports

Apart from the fact that NBC Sports broadcasts a good amount of sporting events on its channels, and has access to a number of programs that discuss many different sporting events, the main great thing about it is that it is available on Peacock TV.

Peacock TV, for those of you who don’t know, is a streaming service that is run by NBC Universal and it includes NBC Sports for free of cost with its subscription service that starts at $5/month!

So, this is a really great advantage for accessing NBC Sports because there are no other big sports network channels that even come near this price!

What we didn’t like about NBC Sports

So, while it is great for people living in the US to access NBC Sports for $5/month on Peacock TV, the downside to it is that currently the service is only available in the US and some European countries, with different pricing.

For the rest of the world, in order to access NBC Sports, you need to download the application with the same name, and pay for the service, in order to get their service on your mobile device, and the app has reported many different bugs from many different users.

Plus, the overall app of NBC Sports does not feature all of the sporting events that you see on their channels, as well.

Review and rating of NBC Sports

NBC Sports is definitely a sports network channel that is more popular than CBS Sports, and it does own a good amount of content in the world of sports broadcasting in the US and internationally, as well.

The great thing about the service is the fact that you are able to watch it on Peacock TV for a very minimal pricing, and none of the other popular sports networks provide the same level of price.

It is a really good alternative to TNT Sports, especially for the price difference and the overall availability worldwide, and for that reason I will rate NBC Sports 4/5 stars.

Fox Sports

FoxSportsGo

FOX Sports is one of the leading names in the world of sports broadcasting and even if you don’t watch a lot of different sports, you must have heard of the name Fox Sports because of its overall popularity in the world of sports networks.

FOX Sports features a number of different channels that also cover various different aspects of sporting events and broadcast different sporting events from across the world and also the ones that are played domestically.

There is a good amount of things to discuss about Fox Sports.

What we liked about Fox Sports

So, if you are looking to access a good amount of sporting events, just look at the lineup of rights to the sporting events that FOX Sports has the rights to.

Over on Fox Sports channels, you will be able to watch NCAA basketball and football games, MLB, NASCAR, WWE, NFL, MLS, and it was the official broadcaster of 2022 FIFA!

FIFA is one of the most beloved sporting event throughout the world and FOX Sports won the rights for 2018 and 2022 games, and I am pretty sure that it will also try to win the bid for the 2026 FIFA, as well.

Along with all of this, Fox Sports also doesn’t receive a lot of complaints from its customers for its overall service, and that is always a great thing.

What we didn’t like about Fox Sports

One of the major disadvantages of Fox Sports is the fact that it is currently not available on major streaming services, such as YouTube TV or Hulu with LIVE TV.

The only streaming service that it is currently available in on Sling TV, and that can be a disadvantage because Sling TV is also only restricted to the US.

Plus, Fox Sports is not as available in international markets as some of its other competitors, so that is also a disadvantage on its side.

Review and rating of Fox Sports

Fox Sports is definitely one of those names in the world of sports that almost everyone have heard of only because it is a really great cable tv sports network and has been around for a very long time.

The service is currently majorly available on cable connections and it should definitely shift to streaming, as well, so that more people are able to access its service.

I will rate Fox Sports 3.5/5 stars.

ESPN

ESPN+ logo

ESPN is a sporting network that doesn’t really require any specific introduction because it is generally considered as one of the most premium sports networks because of how long it has been around.

ESPN boasts a really strong library of sports related content because it also has rights to many different sporting events that are played across the globe and domestically, as well.

There are plenty of other things to discuss about ESPN, as well!

What we liked about ESPN

The great thing about ESPN is the fact that you are able to see a lot of different sporting events on the channels and there are a number of different channels of ESPN, as well, and they are home to some really great sports-related shows, as well.

Along with this, ESPN also has a streaming service of its own, that is known as ESPN Plus, and while this service does not have all the content that ESPN has to offer on its channels, there are still a good amount of live streaming sports and Original content on this service.

Plus, if you are a fan of UFC Fight Nights and UFC PPV, then you definitely need to have an ESPN Plus subscription because only they have the streaming rights to those games.

ESPN is also one of the services that is actually available in many different countries, as well. So that is also something to love about it!

What we didn’t like about ESPN

ESPN is a pretty great service but over the years it has seen a decline in its users because the majority of the people are switching over to streaming rather than on cable because of various different reasons.

So, while it is great that ESPN has its own streaming service, it should also start to get the streaming rights to those events that it shows on its channels, because frankly speaking, ESPN Plus’s library feels a bit like side-dish that really doesn’t fit in the overall library of ESPN Channels.

Speaking of ESPN channels, they are quite expensive compared to its counterpart. So for example, on an average cable tv subscription, the users are paying around $10/month for its service.

And while $10 Dollars relatively inexpensive, in comparison, for other sports channels, such as Fox Sports, and average user is paying around $1.86 Dollars.

So, if you have ESPN subscribed to your cable tv package, just know that you are paying a significant amount of money to it!

Review and rating of ESPN

ESPN is a great service when it comes to sports because it does offer its users with everything related to sports and many people do regard it as one of the best in the business.

The overall service has expanded into the world of streaming, as well, and while the overall pricing of ESPN, both on cable and streaming, is expensive compared to its competitors and the overall content that is on offer, it is still a remarkable service.

The service is available worldwide and there aren’t many direct competitors to ESPN, even though Disney is planning on losing it because it is not generating as much money as it used to for the company.

Still, for what it is worth, I will rate ESPN 4/5 stars.

Ten Sports

TEN-Sports

TEN Sports is also a very popular sports networks company that is operated in Asia and it is run by a Pakistani company. TEN Sports does act as one of the major leading channels in sports when it comes to countries like India, Pakistan, etc.

The overall service has owned the rights to many different popular sporting events, and if you are a fan of cricket or football, then you would definitely love the overall content that is on offer on TEN Sports.

There is quite a lot to discuss about TEN Sports, as well!

What we liked about Ten Sports

The great thing about TEN Sports is the fact that you are able to watch a good amount of live sporting events on its various channels, as each channel owns different broadcasting rights to popular events.

The different number of channels are also available in different languages, which is also quite useful for a multi-language country like India.

Along with this, the service is also available on a streaming service known as Sony Liv, since Sony Sports Network also owns TEN Sports division, so there is quite a lot of things to love about TEN Sports.

What we didn’t like about Ten Sports

Some of the things that aren’t so particularly great about TEN Sports is the fact that the service is not available to use worldwide, and it is limited to only some South-Asia countries, most notably India, Pakistan, and even Bangladesh.

Along with this, some of the American sporting events, such as NBA, NFL, and others are not really available on all of these channels, and most of the focus is given on Cricket sporting events and even Football, for that matter.

Plus, the streaming service that it is available on, Sony Liv, is not available worldwide and the service would require users to use a VPN in order to access some of the sporting events.

Review and rating of Ten Sports

TEN Sports is definitely not for everyone. The sports network is quite popular in the South-Asian countries and because of that it mostly caters to the sports that people of those countries love to watch, i.e, Cricket.

However, there are many different channels of TEN Sports and they are available on a very minimal low rate, when you compare it against something like TNT Sports, and the service is also available in the UK, as well.

So, you can easily try it out from there, and see whether you like it or not. I will rate TEN Sports 3.5/5 stars.

Our recommendations on the best TNT Sports alternative?

So, what is my final verdict on some of the best TNT Sports alternatives that are present for its audiences? Well, I have tried to discuss five of the best alternatives that I could find that have a good range of sporting events, along with the availability in major international countries.

Along with this, almost all of these services are available for streaming online in some way or form, as well.

So, it actually depends on you, whether which service you would choose based on the location that you are currently staying in, and the overall budget that you like to have.

I have tried to list down both the pros and cons of all the alternatives, so that it is easier for you to choose. However, if I had to choose, then I would probably choose TEN Sports and NBC Sports.

Why did we choose TEN Sports and NBC Sports as the best TNT Sports alternative?

Let’s start with TEN Sports. The main reason for choosing it is because I live in India and the overall sports network channels that are available are mostly by Sony Sports Network, i.e, TEN Sports.

So, most of the events that I would like to see are readily available to me, plus the service is quite cheaper compared to some of the other alternatives that are present.

Along with it, the service is also available on a streaming service called ‘Sony Liv’ and the overall cost of the streaming service is also quite inexpensive compared to its alternatives.

Speaking of inexpensive streaming services, NBC Sports, on the other hand, is a great sports network that is available on Peacock TV for a ridiculously inexpensive plan of $5/month and there is nothing quite like it, in terms of its pricing.

Plus, Peacock TV is also a service that is actually readily available across the US, so chances are that you are able to watch all the great sporting events that are hosted live on NBC Sports, as well.

Apart from the price, NBC Sports is actually really great service when it comes to sports because it does own the rights to many popular sporting events, including 2020 Olympics, as well!

As always, these have been my thoughts regarding this topic. What about you? Do you agree with my list? Or do you think that I missed out on a few major TNT Sports alternatives that are reasonably priced and are readily available in different countries, as well?

Whatever your thoughts are, do let us know about them in the comments down below!
