For most people that won’t be too big of an issue, however, you can also find some alternatives, that I have listed below, that provide users to read mangas for free and their websites are ad-free, as well.
Reason 2 – Buggy Apps
Manga Plus also has an app that you can download from popular stores, such as App Store and Play Store, and through that application, you can continue reading your favourite mangas, as well.
However, even though it is great that it has apps to download, the overall functionality of the apps is quite buggy. Users are not able to fully read the mangas properly, and the app also takes time to load.
It is a bit inconvenient to use, and many people prefer to read on the website.
Reason 3 – Mangas limited to creators
While it is great that the mangas that are available on Manga Plus are legally available, and there are popular titles, as well. However, you might find some other well-known titles missing from this website.
Mangas like Berserk, Fullmetal Alchemist, etc., are not available on Manga Plus and this can be due to the fact that Shueisiha and the creators were not able to make to a deal, or something else.
So, you can expect some mangas that are limited to only certain creators that Shueisiha has deals with.

However, I say that it is a good alternative to Manga Plus because you are able to get a lot of different mangas on it, as well as some light novels and audiobooks too!
Plus, Book Walker also has the rights to share all of these mangas and other material on its website, just like Manga Plus does.
What we liked about Book Walker
Book walker does have a bigger library of content when it comes to reading mangas and everything related to the world of Manga. It also has an application that you can download for Android and iOS, and also for Windows and macOS, as well.
Plus, you are able to read a number of different free mangas on Book Walker, as well. Along with that, you have other great benefits, such as a great website, fewer ads, and a whole lot more.
What we didn’t like about Book Walker
However, while there are a lot of things to like Book Walker, there are also things that many people would not like so much about it, as well.
For starters, most of what is available on Book Walker is actually paid. You need to buy off individual mangas, light novels and audiobooks that are available on it to be able to read them.
Not all of them are paid, there are a number of free ones as well, however, when you compare it to an all-free library of Manga Plus, then it might be something that most people don’t end up liking.

Even though, Book Walker offers users to buy most of the mangas on its website, the fact of the matter still remains that there is a lot more things to read and listen to on Book Walker than what it is available on Manga Plus.

Along with a website that is legally run and doesn’t fall under the gray area of legal issues, that some other websites might fall into.

Book Walker is a good website that you can consider as an alternative to Manga Plus. You are easily able to read a number of free mangas and pay for the ones that you really like, as well.
The overall UI of the website feels a little outdated and it is not as great as the one you get on Manga Plus, but you are still able to use it properly and easily.

Manga reader.to
Manga Reader is a new website that I recently came across that offers users to read free mangas on its website. That’s not all that it offers, over at this website, you are able to read a huge library of Mangas on it.
You also get a website that is ad-free, as well, so you can easily enjoy reading your favourite manga without having to search through a number of pop-up ads in between your reading session.
What we liked about Manga reader.to
Manga Reader addresses a lot of issues that you might face on certain free-reading manga websites. First of all the website is run on donations, so you should not expect any of the ads to be played on the website.
The website is also secure to use, as there are not a lot of spam pop-up ads that will fill up on your screen. The overall UI and UX of the website is also quite clean and simple looking, which feels quite modern too.
Then you are able to read all of your favourite and popular mangas on the website for free, and it has a huge library of content on it, so you can spend an unlimited number of time on it.
What we didn’t like about Manga reader.to
The one main thing that I don’t particularly like about Manga Reader is the fact that the website is not legally run.
All the mangas and the other list of content that are available on the website, Manga Reader doesn’t have any rights to share them on its website.
So, it does fall under the gray area of legal issues, that it might end up facing from the creators of the mangas whose work this website is posting for free.

Why did we choose Manga reader.to as a Manga Plus By Shueisiha alternative?
With everything said and done, Manga Reader is still a good alternative to Manga Plus on various accounts. While you may encounter some ads on Manga Plus, you will not be able to do so on Manga Reader.
Along with this, Manga reader does have a huge set of library of content available and it does have all of the popular mangas that are available to read, such as One Piece, Berserk, Fullmetal Alchemist and a whole lot more.

Manga Reder has a number of great things that users are able to use on its website. The website is ad-free to use, there is a huge library of popular mangas and niche mangas available on it.
Along with this, there is no geo-restrictions on the content that is available on the website and the UI and UX of the website feels like a premium manga-reading website, as well.
The developers have also promised that they are working on an app, as well.
However, the overall website does lie in the gray area of legality, and that can be an issue later on. For now, you can easily read all your favourite mangas on this website for free.
I will rate Manga Reader 3.5/5 stars.
Manganelo
Manganelo is a fairly simple and straightforward website that you can also try out as an alternative to Manga Plus. Manganelo offers its users a great library of manga content to read though for free of cost.
You are easily able to read them on its website and you are also able to communicate with the members of the community of the website, as well.
What we liked about Manganelo
Manganelo is able to provide a lot of free mangas to all of its users, and for a lot of people, casual and serious manga readers, that is quite good actually! You are easily able to read them on its website and share your thoughts about it, as well.
Along with this, if you are big fan of mangas and you also write mangas of your own, then you can easily share those mangas on Manganelo, as well.
It offers creators to share their mangas on its website, and you can get the review from the people of the community.
What we didn’t like about Manganelo
Manganelo is a simple manga-reading website, and hence it also works like most manga-reading websites that allow users to read the mangas for free, i.e., by not having the rights to any of the mangas available on it.
Since that is the case, Manganelo may soon have to change its website and would be on a constant run of making different URLs for its website so that the users are able to continue reading on it, while they evade other authorities.

Manga Plus and Manganelo both offer readers with a really good library of content that is quite well-put, and it is also in the interest of most people’s choice, as well.
Both Managnelo and Manga Plus also offer creators a choice of putting forward their own manga work on the website, and get the response back from the people who occasionally read on the website, as well.
So, there are a bit of similarities between the two websites.

Manganelo is a good website that you can try out if you are looking for a website that offers you a ton of different mangas to read and all of them are free of cost, as well.
However, the website is not fully legal to use, and the overall UI of the website isn’t all that great, as well.
Still, it is a place where you can easily read free mangas and share your thoughts with like-minded people and for that I will rate Manganelo 3/5 stars.

Both, Manganelo and Mangaupdates are quite similar in nature and what they provide to their users, as well. Just like Manganelo, Mangaupdates is also a website that provides users with free mangas to read.
Along with all of that, you are also able to get the latest happenings in the world of manga because of the community of people who run the website, so you are able to interact with them, get latest news, and share your thoughts on a particular manga, as well!
What we liked about Mangaupdates
Mangaupdates has the same things to like about it like the ones that you like about Managnelo. Over at this website, you are easily able to read a number of popular and niche mangas for free of cost.
For most people that should be enough, however, at Mangaupdates, you are also able to read a lot about what is happening in the world of mangas, and that is something that you don’t often get to know about on such websites.
There is an active community of people who you can interact with and share your own thoughts with them, as well, so there is quite a bit to like about Mangaupdates.
What we didn’t like about Mangaupdates
Mangaupdates follows the same trajectory that all of these websites follow, and that is, that the website is not legal to use, and while that may not be an issue right now, in the near future, it could be.
The overall UI of mangaupdates is also not that great, it feels quite basic and a little outdated, as well, and that isn’t something that you expect from a website in 2023.
Why did we choose Mangaupdates as a Manga Plus By Shueisiha alternative?
Both, Manga Plus and Mangaupdates are pretty alike as they both offer their users with a number of different mangas for free of cost, however, the library of Mangupdates is quite big compared to the one on Manga Plus.
Plus, you are also able to interact with like-minded people, and that is always a plus point, as well.
Review and rating of Mangaupdates
Mangaupdates is a good website to read popular mangas online for free, it is nothing groundbreaking, and it does have its own fair share of issues, as well.
However, that is not the point with such websites, the main point is that you are easily able to read free mangas, and on that front, Mangaupdates does provide, as well.
I will rate Mangaupdates 3/5 stars.
MangaDex
MangaDex is a great alternative that you should also try out if you are looking for an alternative to Manga Plus.
MangaDex offers its users with free mangas to read, and the whole website is run on donations by the community of people, so all the mangas that are available on it are actually paid through the donations.
What we liked about MangaDex
MangaDex is a pretty great website, and there are many different things to like about it, as well. The website owns the rights to all the mangas that are available on it, and you can read them all for free.
The website also does not run on any ads because, again, it is run on donations, so that is always a plus point.
The overall UI of the website is also pretty simple and clean and it does not look outdated as it feels on some websites like Mangaupdates and Manganelo.
What we didn’t like about MangaDex
MangaDex does not have too many wrong things about it, but there are always nitpicks that you can take out from each website, and with this one also you can do the same.
MangaDex is run full on the community and on its donations, and while that may sound great on surface, but we all know how online communities can be sometimes, and the same issue can also be faced on MangaDex, as well.
Why did we choose MangaDex as a Manga Plus By Shueisiha alternative?
MangaDex is a pretty great alternative to Manga Plus, you are able to read free mangas that are legally purchased by the community of people.
You have the option to join various different forums on MangaDex and have a way better experience of interacting with the people when you compare it to other websites with communities.
Plus, there are also no ads on MangaDex, as well.

MangaDex is one of my favourite recommendations in the world of online manga-reading websites, and the website does offer a lot to its users, as well.
It is ad-free, and the mangas available on it are also legal to read, and free, as well. I will rate MangaDex 4/5 stars.

Manga Plus is a pretty great website when it comes to reading mangas online for free, so when it comes to choosing its alternatives it can be pretty tricky because there is a lot that Manga Plus does correctly.
The reason I chose MangaDex is because it has a great library of content available on it, and all of it is free to read and the overall experience of using MangaDex is actually pretty great.
You have a nice UI, and ad-free website, and a community of people to talk to, as well.
Manga Reader, on the other hand, is also a really great option that you can try out for reading a a lot of free mangas online.
The website is pretty great, you get access to a number of popular mangas and the website is also pretty clean looking and simple to use.
There are a number of different features that you see on Manga Reader’s questionnaire page, and I have to say, it is all quite impressive.
The only downside is that it is not fully legal to use, cause it does not have the rights to share those mangas on its website, however, if you can get past it, then it is also a great website to try out.
