It is easy to dismiss Nezuko as the cute younger sister but she is much more than that. She is a strong and likeable character on her own and leaves an impression every time she appears on screen. Her one-to-one fight with Daki is one of the best moments in the series.

As a demon, Nezuko often craves human flesh but she bravely overcomes that urge to become an ally of the Demon Slayer Corps. This gives her character some much-needed depth and cemented her popularity as a strong female anime character with black hair.

Megumin

Megumin

Series: KonoSuba

Number of Episodes: 20+ 2 OVAs(as of July 2017)

Created By: Natsume Akatsuki

Voice Artist: Rie Takahashi(Japanese); Erica Mendez(English)

She is eccentric, cocky and specializes in nothing except explosion magic. Megumin strives to perfect her one explosion spell and is not interested in learning any other type of magic. On the other hand, she is also perhaps the most sensible person in the group.

KonoSuba itself is a satire of the fantasy genre and Megumin comes across as a particularly hilarious parody of most anime witches and magical girls.

However, like we said before, for all her antics, she is fairly intelligent and the one who has the most common sense in Kazuma’s group. But it cannot be denied that Megumin’s gags and shenanigans make her an unforgettable anime character.
